Vampires are mythological characters which survive on human blood. Of course, some vampires also survive on animal blood. While individual traits of a vampire may differ according to the country from where the folklore originates, most vampires are considered to be the dead brought back to life, with the help of human blood.

The concept of vampires was popularized during early 18th century from folklores circulating in southern Europe, especially the Balkans and Greece. These were dead humans with unfulfilled desires who re-visited the earth to either kill or create some mischief in the same locality where they lived. They were dark and awe-inspiring in appearance and wore shrouds, and originally did not have fangs.

Then the vampire was brought to the published and printed book form with the release of the fiction called Dracula in 1897. The vampire had been released from the confines of the folklore and landed on everyone’s bookshelf. This started a whole new genre of vampires with features and characteristics which were distinctly different from what they were in folklore form.

The popularity of vampires goes unabated even in the 21st century. Count Dracula, the most famous vampire, who was not dead, viciously fanged and who hated sunlight was thus born. Traits like hatred for garlic and susceptibility to staking were attributes lifted from folklore.

The belief in vampires spread in the 18th and 19th centuries mainly in New England especially in Rhode Island and Eastern Connecticut. Legend says that many families in these regions disinterred the bodies of their loved ones and removed their hearts with the belief that the loved ones had turned into vampires which brought ill-luck and deaths in the family. Vampires are also known to be non-humans too and there are stories about animals like bats, dogs and spiders becoming vampires.

Jiang Shi is the Chinese vampire which lives on living beings. Even Korean and Japanese mythologies also have evidence of its own vampires.

Among the celebrities who have vampire tattoos is Nicholas Brendon who has the tattoo of Buffy the Vampire Slayer cross on his right shoulder. If you also desire a vampire tattoo you could find innumerable vampire tattoo designs on the net. Choose one which you like best but make sure that you choose something which your artist can portray. Blue, Black and red are colors which depict vampire tattoos best.

The design concept of a vampire tattoo is such that the artist can also add his creative touches freely. In case you want a Japanese or Chinese vampire tattoo, you could also get some words inscribed around it to further accentuate your belief or idea. The image of Dracula, the most famous vampire in the world, is a good tattoo idea as it portrays challenge, evil and fear, which in design form, can be very interesting.

Among their best known songs are "We Can't Be Beaten", "Scarred for Life", "Rock 'n' Roll Outlaw" and "Bad Boy for Love". Their first four albums were produced by Harry Vanda and George Young who also worked with AC/DC. Along with AC/DC and The Angels, Rose Tattoo helped establish an Australian rock sound in the 1970s that was copied around the world.

Rose Tattoo was formed in Sydney in 1976 by slide guitarist Peter Wells, who had just departed the bassist role in Buffalo. Ian Rilen from Band of Light joined on bass. Rilen had apparently taught himself to play bass while in prison and thus gave Wells' band the street-cred he was looking for[1]. Rhythm guitarist Mick Cocks, singer Tony Lake and drummer Michael Vandersluys completed the line-up however the last two only remained for a few rehearsals and were soon replaced by former Buster Brown members Angry Anderson and Dallas "Digger" Royal. Like Buffalo, Buster Brown had enjoyed a level of notoriety, playing at the Sunbury Festival in 1974 and at one point had featured AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd[2]. Rose Tattoo made their public debut on New Year's Eve at the rock club Chequers that several years earlier had launched the career of AC/DC.

Chiefly inspired by The Rolling Stones and the Faces, Rose Tattoo's hard-rocking sound quickly earned a devoted following in the Sydney area. Among the band's fans were the members of AC/DC, who recommended them to Albert Productions; the band's debut single "Bad Boy for Love" was written by Rilen, who left the lineup prior to the record's release.

During Lloyde's brief tenure with the band, they recorded a song, "Legalise Realise" that was released as a single in 1980, backed with a track by country singer Colin Paterson to publicise a campaign to legalise marihuana.

Rose Tattoo toured Europe in 1981 and featured at the Reading Festival, and were hailed as the loudest band to play London's Marquee Club since Led Zeppelin. Returning to Australia, the band began work on their third album; with new guitarist Robin Riley replacing Cocks who went on to join Heaven, they issued Scarred for Life in 1982, subsequently touring the US in support of Aerosmith and ZZ Top. The band's US visit was not a major success but proved to be extremely influential on the underground sleaze metal scene in Los Angeles, with bands such as Guns N' Roses later citing Rose Tattoo as favourites. That group went on to record a version of "Nice Boys" and issue it on the G N' R Lies album.

Leach then exited to join Wells, Royal and Riley in the short-lived Illustrated Men. Anderson also took time out to play the character 'Ironbar' Bassey in the 1985 film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. That year Rose Tattoo, as Anderson, Johnston, Meyer, Andy Cichon (bass) and Tim Gaze (slide guitar), released a version of Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild", their first release for Mushroom Records. Meyer left and Rose Tattoo recorded 1986's Beats From a Single Drum as a four piece

The cross has been used as a symbol in ancient Greek and Egyptian cultures, as well as by the Aztecs, whose culture of human sacrifice was actually quite shocking. Even the Norse God Thor's hammer is thought to be represented by the Tau cross. And, even the Hebrew letter Tau (or Tav) is said to be a form of the cross. The writings of ninteenth century occultist Aleister Crowley teach that the cross and the Tau are at once symbols of power and the human phallus. Cross symbolism can be found in numerous civilizations, and cultures across a great many centuries.

Tattoos for girls are typically more feminine in nature. They are generally smaller and more delicate with thinner lines and are usually isolated to one or two parts of the body. Almost like accessories or accent pieces. Where men like to have their tattoos on the upper arm, or chest, or shoulder, most girls are aware that what they’re doing has to work with the somewhat more revealing fashions. Thus, a girl needs to think about whether or not a tattoo will look good with a bikini, or a prom dress, or an evening gown. Likewise, girls tend to be a bit more careful about making sure that a tattoo is concealable with professional or casual attire.

So, when looking for a cute girl tattoo, the first thing to think of is “where to put it” – on the back, between the shoulder blades is a common place, as is a circle around the upper arm, or a circle around a wrist or ankle. Another popular place is at the small of the back, right over the crease of the buttocks, because it can be hidden with a modest swim suit – or shown off with a low cut one.

The positioning of girl tattoos can also give away their characteristics. For instance, a girl who is a romantic at heart will often chose the shoulder for her tattoo, especially if she isn’t ashamed to own up to being a romantic and a bit of a day dreamer.

Zodiac Symbol Tattoos | Mexican Tattoo Design

Zodiac Symbol Tattoos | Mexican Tattoo Design

Have you ever given any thought to zodiac symbols when you've been browsing through catalogues of tattoos?
There are 12 signs of the zodiac and you will definitely be one of them.
Just select your birth date to see which sign you come under.
Aries = begins 21st March- ends 20th April Taurus = begins 21st April - ends 21st May Gemini= begins 22nd May - ends 21st June Cancer = begins 22nd June- ends 22nd July Leo = begins 23rd July- ends 23rd August Virgo = begins 24th August- ends 22nd September Libra = begins 23rd September -ends 23rd October Scorpio = begins 24th October- ends 22nd November Sagittarius = begins 23rd November- ends 21st December Capricorn = begins 22nd December- ends 20th January Aquarius = begins 21st January ends- 18th February Pisces = begins 19th February ends- 20th March.

If you are on the cusp of any sign, as an astrologer would say (meaning for example that your birthday is 2oth April...are you then an Arian or a Taurean?) you may need to actively seek out an astrologer to find out exactly which sign you come under.

They'll definitely be able to tell you as they have charts going back years and years as to the exact dates of the change over of the signs.

Each sign of the zodiac carries with it specific traits etc and although horoscopes and astrology phone lines are popular entertainment; the science of astrology is quite complex and revered by many prominent people.

Certainly if you believe in things like' every thing happens for reason' then you'll also believe that we were born at a certain time for a reason and therefore under a specific star sign.

Tattoo fads and fashions come and go, so I always think it's best to have a tattoo that can't ever cease to be relevant and yet will always say something about you.

A lover's name or the date of a marriage may change or be regretted, but your birth date and hence your star sign will never change.

Look up the symbol for your sign; they are quite unique and individualistic as a choice for a tattoo.

BEHIND THE EAR TATTOOS - Besides, face and neck tattoos aren't just for the hardest of tattoo lovers -- a girl I know has the signature of a friend of hers who died young inked in tiny print behind her ear, and it actually looks very tasteful, delicate and perfectly placed. The small butterflies and stars tattooed on the same place of the women featured in the photo galleries below look equally appealing. Kat Von D, renowned portrait tattoo artist featured on the TLC reality series "Miami Ink", has a series of thirteen small black stars lining her face alongside her brow.
